DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jun. 3, 2016-- Ascent Private Capital Management of U.S. Bank has named John Zimmerman, CFA, as regional managing director of its Denver office. Zimmerman, who most recently served as president of Denver Investments, will join Ascent’s Denver team on June 14.

Zimmerman will lead Ascent’s team of professionals in Denver, who work with families with an average net worth of more than $440 million.

In his previous role as president of Denver Investments, Zimmerman was responsible for the overall strategic direction of the firm, which has approximately $8 billion in assets under management. Prior to that role, he served as managing director of Northern Lights Capital Group, which provides capital and strategic resources to boutiques in the asset management industry. He also held executive leadership positions with Janus Capital Group and Bank of America Capital Management.

Zimmerman, who is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Missouri, and an MBA from St. Louis University. He and his wife reside in Lone Tree, Colo., with their three children.
