Greg Cunningham is a senior executive vice president and chief community impact and inclusion officer. He joined the bank in 2015 as vice president of customer engagement, was promoted to chief diversity officer in 2020 and added responsibilities for driving workforce inclusion, financial inclusion and community engagement efforts in 2025.
Cunningham leads the company’s inclusive growth strategy. In 2021, he led the launch of U.S. Bank Access Commitment, the company’s long-term approach to help close the wealth gap.
Previously, Cunningham spent 16 years at Target Corp., where he led lifestyle marketing.
Cunningham is a member of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity (The Boulé) and serves on the National Board of Directors for the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), the nation’s largest minority higher education organization. He also serves on the board of Juxtaposition Arts, a Minneapolis-based nonprofit focused on supporting youth and the arts; the advisory board of Doughtery Family College at the University of St. Thomas; OIC of America; and serves on the Minneapolis Downtown Council’s 2035 Steering Committee and as a fund advisor for Commerce Ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund.
Cunningham earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Clark-Atlanta University, a UNCF member school, and an MBA from Fordham University in New York City.
