Courtney Kelso is a senior executive vice president and head of Payments: Consumer and Small Business (PCS), overseeing personal and small business debit and credit cards, Elan, cobrand and related functions that include business line risk and credit/collections.
Prior to joining U.S. Bank in 2025, Kelso spent more than 17 years in consumer and small business payments at American Express. Kelso previously held roles at McKinsey & Co. and Accenture
Kelso serves on behalf of U.S. Bank as a board member of Early Warning Systems, the parent company of Zelle and Paze. She is also a member of the American Bankers Association Card Policy Council and the Electronic Payments Coalition. She is a former board member of the Women’s Forum of New York. She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and policy studies at Rice University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School
